Clarity, Coverage & Care —One Prescription at a Time

Prescription Drug Plans (Part D)

💊

Prescription drugs are essential for your health—but understanding how Medicare Part D works can be overwhelming. That’s where I come in.

I help you choose a plan that makes sense, fits your medications and budget, and avoids unnecessary surprises.

What Is Medicare Part D?

Part D provides coverage for prescription medications. These plans are offered by private insurance companies approved by Medicare and are available in two ways:

  • Stand-alone drug plans (PDPs) for people with Original Medicare

  • Drug coverage included in Medicare Advantage plans (MAPDs)

What Do Part D Plans Cover?

Each plan has its own list of covered drugs, called a formulary, which includes:

  • Generic and brand-name medications

  • Drugs organized by tiers (Tier 1 = lowest cost)

  • Coverage for medically necessary prescriptions

Most plans must cover at least two drugs in each drug category, but formularies vary—so checking your medications is crucial.
